Video: Down Hill Mountain Biking in the Wilds of Africa
One of the great things about mountain biking is that it can take you to some amazingly remote places. Take this video for instance which follows a team of pro mountain bikers as they travel to Africa to explore some of the more wild areas there by mountain bike. They find some surprisingly good downhill to test their skills on along the way, as they barrel across the open landscapes. It looks like a fun place to go for a ride, and I certainly know I'd love to do some mountain biking in Africa.

Video: South America by Drone
Adam Humphrey, the filmmaker behind this beautiful short film, spent five weeks backpacking through South America, covering more than 19,000 km (11,800 miles) in the process. Along the way, he shot some amazing video – with the help of a drone – in Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, and Peru. The results speak for themselves, as viewers are treated to fantastic shots of some of the most stunning landscapes on the continent, if not the world.

Video: Earth Porn - Volume 2: Alberta Water
Awhile back we had a beautiful video with the title of Earth Porn. It took us into the amazing wilderness settings of British Columbia, Canada, giving us some exceptionally beautiful shots of the landscapes there. Now, we're back with Volume 2 of the series, this time with a focus on the rivers, lakes, and waterfalls that can be found near Alberta. This short film is just as lovely as the first, with striking images that will leave you longing to visit these places for yourself.

Video: A Voice in the Wilderness
This beautiful clip is a good reminder of why we need to go outside. It was shot as a promotional piece for my friends over at O.A.R.S., but the message is a good one none the less. It features a narrator reading a great quote from author and environmentalist Edward Abbey about the importance of not only protecting the wilderness, but also going out and exploring it as well. The scenery depicted in the clip will certainly help to inspire you to heed that advice. Short and sweet, but very lovely. Enjoy!

Video: Atlantic Light Along Ireland's West Coast
Wild and dramatic would be the words I'd use to describe the landscapes captured in this video. They were shot by photographer and filmmaker Peter Cox, who traveled to Ireland's West Coast to capture these ariel images. The shots will be featured in a new coffee table book, but it is hard to not marvel at them in motion as well. This is a beautiful part of the world, and this short film does a wonderful job of conveying the sense of wonder that comes along with visiting this place.

Video: Timelapse From the Atacama Desert
This breathtaking video was shot in one of my favorite places on Earth, the Atacama Desert of Northern Chile. It features some of the most stunning landscapes you could ever hope to see, but better yet it also shows off the amazing night skies that can be seen over the Atacama. In all of my travels, I have never seen skies like the ones that are found there, and this short film will give you a taste of what they are like. Enjoy.

Video: Explore the North - A Journey Through Norway
Last year, filmmaker Theo Gove-Humphries spent some time traveling through Norway, documenting the landscapes that he found there. Along the way, he captures some of the incredible places that he discovered using timelapse photography. The result of his hard work is this 2+ minute clip that is amongst the most beautiful that I have ever seen. It is a visual postcard for what Norway has to offer, and makes a case for why we should all go visit. Simply spectacular. Don't miss this one.

Video: The Illusion of Light
We've seen a lot of amazing timelapse videos in recent months, but the ones that often stick with me the longest are those that capture the night sky in impressive fashion. This video does that incredibly well, showing us countless stars and the glow of the Milky Way over some stunning landscapes from across our planet. This is a beautiful way to end the day, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Video: Cloud Symphony - A Timelapse Journey Through England, Scotland, and the Himalaya
This video seems like a fitting way to close out the week. It features some amazing landscapes from England, Scotland and the Himalaya of India and Nepal, shot in timelapse. In each of these settings, the clouds in the sky overhead add a level of beauty and drama, as they drift by, twisting and turning in the wind. This if five minutes of pure bliss, set to a rousing soundtrack.
