Video: Mt. Fuji in Timelapse
In Japan, there are few sites more revered than Mt. Fuji, a massive stratovolcano that stretches 3776 meters (12,389 ft) in height. Each year, thousands climb up to its summit on a grueling hike that provides an immense sense of satisfaction, along with some amazing views. In this video, we get a great look at the mountain through a series of timelapse photographs. In all, more than 14,000 images were collected and assembled to create the three-minute video, and I think you'll agree that it was worth the effort.

Video: Timelapse in the Altai Mountains
Located in Central Asia, the Altai Mountains stretch across Russia, Mongolia, China, and Kazakhstan. Remote, rugged, and wild, the Altai's are stark in their beauty, challenging visitors with unpredictable weather and their distant location. But this video takes viewers to that amazing landscape and gives us a taste of what that part of the world has to offer. To say it is breathtaking would be an understatement.

Video: Timelapse From the Atacama Desert
This breathtaking video was shot in one of my favorite places on Earth, the Atacama Desert of Northern Chile. It features some of the most stunning landscapes you could ever hope to see, but better yet it also shows off the amazing night skies that can be seen over the Atacama. In all of my travels, I have never seen skies like the ones that are found there, and this short film will give you a taste of what they are like. Enjoy.

Video: Night Time Wingsuit Flight Paints A Vivid Picture
There is no question that wingsuit pilots continue to push the limits of what is possible in the air. But this video takes things in a new direction. The pilot makes a night time flight that doesn't offer much in the way of scenery at first, but delivers a payoff with an excellent timelapse image in the end. It is a good example of what a little imagination and creativity can deliver as he uses a flare to dramatic effect.

Video: A 10k Timelapse Demo
Remember when we all use to get excited about 1080p HD video? Now, while everyone is busy talking about 4k resolutions, the filmmakers behind this demo have made the leap to 10k. Shot with a camera that is capable of collecting 80 megapixel images that provide a stunning resolution of 10327x7760 pixels. In the short film we get a glimpse of what this looks like with some fantastic timelapse images shot in and around Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The sense of scale is very impressive, with details that will blow you away. If this is the future of video, I can't wait for it to get here.

Video: Explore the North - A Journey Through Norway
Last year, filmmaker Theo Gove-Humphries spent some time traveling through Norway, documenting the landscapes that he found there. Along the way, he captures some of the incredible places that he discovered using timelapse photography. The result of his hard work is this 2+ minute clip that is amongst the most beautiful that I have ever seen. It is a visual postcard for what Norway has to offer, and makes a case for why we should all go visit. Simply spectacular. Don't miss this one.

Video: African Desert in Timelapse Courtesy of Nat Geo
I share timelapse videos with regularity here on The Adventure Blog, but it isn't very often that we get one from National Geographic. In this case, our friends over at Nat Geo take us into the heart of Namibia, where we get an incredible look of the beautiful desert there. The short clip was created by filmmaker Matthew Hood, who seamlessly blends daytime shots into the night with stunning starscapes rising behind untouched wilderness.

Video: The Illusion of Light
We've seen a lot of amazing timelapse videos in recent months, but the ones that often stick with me the longest are those that capture the night sky in impressive fashion. This video does that incredibly well, showing us countless stars and the glow of the Milky Way over some stunning landscapes from across our planet. This is a beautiful way to end the day, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Video: A Long Hike Through Western Mongolia
In terms of remote and untamed places, they don't come any more wild than parts of Mongolia. In this video we get a good look of the landscapes there as we follow a solitary hiker on his walk across the western region of the Central Asian country. It is a remarkable place for an adventure, and a truly amazing destination.
